I see people of TIGSource has opened a competition without prizes to make a text-based game. You can read more information here .
The idea has seemed very healthy and friendly, designed to remove some community without competitiveness and excellence are a problem. A competition for the art and to everyone where we see the troubled mind that everyone has in his head.
Do you do something similar animais here? The idea is to take any of the editors recommend there (some are even not-coders-requiered) as TADS or Inform7 (or directly program it yourself), and make a game that does not require more than 10 minutes of play (to be feasible to play them all), ideally to pose a small challenge and in which is reflected a bit this community.
Not to leave out every game graphs could have a cover of 350 × 350 to serve claim.
I put a deadline on the eve of Kings (January 5 for those who may believe that parents) at 12 pm.
Sorry I'm late so much, and am also having little time to tell this and not dwell too much, but if not at the end the thing was going to be too late.
From today launches second edition of the game development contest "You too can". The rules are as simple as those of yesteryear , but there are a couple of differences.
The first is the issue. Say goodbye to snails, and give welcome almogávares . Yes, the game has to deal with almogávares. As you wish. It can be an adventure game in modern times on the hidden treasure in Greece almogávares can be a beat em up with Roger de Flor and Berenguer de Entenza giving saber, or whatever you can think of.
The second is the prize. This year the prize that I get are 400 euros. We'll see what more we get, for now I'm talking to gaming companies and are for the work to bring things.
Deadline, October 4, 2008. Award date (if nothing strange happens), November 22, 2008, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
I will comment more, and we'll put information here and on their official website . But while ...
A new Indie game blog scene appears in the Spanish panorama, JuegosIndie.net . As I can not think of presenting otherwise I will copy an article I liked.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending each year as this event surrounded by lots of independent developers, amateur and Spanish industry professionals each year go to Barcelona at this time to be there when perhaps reward your game, or me, to meet people from the scene and put faces and voice to those nicks that years ago know of forums and chats. I proceed to enumerate the winners of this year's ceremony, along with a video of the game in question.
Legends of Idhuriel - Mention for Best Graphics
And Fernando Ruiz has done it again. In 2004 this had already been mentioned this excellent graphic artist logroñés that has been through many companies, and rightly so. Although the game shown in both editions is similar, the quality of graphics has been a tremendous improvement shows. Moreover, the entire Legends of Idhuriel prototype presented at the event is made entirely by him-programming and graphics. Chapeau.
Tempo - Mention for Best Design / Game Concept
Tempo is one of the four winning projects this year that has been developed by students of the master game of UPF , which the Catalan institution has established itself as the leading choice for training in this demanding field. Tempo Personally I think a set of the most disturbing, both for the idea, for the setting and the music. Basically, it's like Soul Reaver only instead of a soul-sucking vampire that alternates between the physical and the spiritual world, we have a lady who alternates between a plane that is in a wheelchair and has powers, and another in which Locke can walk on the island.
Ultimate Aim - Mention for Best Technology
The second winner from the University of Barcelona. This game is kind of Extreme-G or Wipeout, with the addition that there are things in the scene you shoot. Or so I understood watching the trailer. This year there was a section in ARTFUTURA try finalists games, which I think is terrible, but what can we do.
Unpaladin - Mention for Best Finish
And that's three of the master. The jury decided that the game was better finish this kind of Devil May Cry with aesthetic Final Fantasy (as Nae ) but the truth is that is not bad.
California Office - Mention the Game with Spark
As you said Daniel Sanchez-Crespo, director of the master of the Pompeu game and head of video game competition, this is the first year that Devilish Games ARTFUTURA not presented, and also the first not to mention are going to take, obviously. And that's because we finally have established itself as a real company with profits in the gaming industry, and this is partly thanks to the prestige and exposure ARTFUTURA has given over the years. Back then, California Office is a time management game, which is called the style of Diner Dash and the like, where your objective is to meeting the demands of customers-or in this case, co-workers to keep them happy.
Xtreme Table Soccer - Special Mention
Since I saw the video a few weeks ago was my clear favorite. Partly because of my love of football, but also very professional finish that exudes the title, plus originality is a game based on the sport homeland. The Seville team took a PlayStation 3-for being, say, the runner-while the rest of mentions they got a PSP.
The last and best-according to the criteria of the jury-project made by students of the master. Although my favorite was another, the truth is that I am delighted because one of the components of the Galaxy team Scrapper's friend for years and the truth is that I feel great to have won, of course it is well deserved. This is a most peculiar game. It is a kind of Super Mario Galaxy to the Spanish, and the first planet of the game may also have some Pikmin , but certainly all very well blended. Congratulations to all the winners. See you next year!
Although he has had a bad organization "Compos Napkin" and despite the lack of number of participants, there have been more abstract works of the game, that will endure great works in the history of mankind
Fly through the galaxy full of planets infinite type "The Little Prince" at a rate epileptic privateers dodging bad bad guys that if they touch you you will risk your life!... Playing rock paper scissors ... If you run the cosmic energy with no issues after inteletelares flies can create an energy juice.
Crab and Cerebroguisante two space pirates, among which there is a certain attraction sickly.Cerebroguisante cosmic loves bananas, so that the two formed a banana republic. The problem is that Cerebroguisante crab only eats bananas and can not control their desire to shoot something. For this reason, undertake an epic battle against the evil banana flies, which as its name suggests, control all imports of bananas in the universe.Paying taxes and customs do not enter into the plans of our pirates ladybugs, that through this battle, may put an end to your craving for bananas and violence.
Development Details:
The game is scheduled at GM. The GML programming and pixelated graphics are up to me, the music comes from an issue of Sabina, "The lame pirate," which I found good idea to put the lyrics in karaoke plan to encourage some air Thug game. I've been developing in three days approximately: Monday, Friday and Sunday. In total we have driven to develop horillas 15-20. What has taken me longer to think of an mechanical been validated for the game. To improve the gameplay had thought to add extras like ammo, Crab attacks from the ship's deck and expand the virulence of the attacks of flies with each wave. As this weekend Curran also touched me, these details I were in the pipeline for lack of time, as well as add any other thing of the kind introduction, menus, improved graphics and variety of settings and enemies. I found it especially interesting to participate in the composition because I had never been involved in a time trial like this. I must admit that I found it not only fun, but also I had a very productive couple of days, because the lack of time I have been pushing to seize more day. Maybe make a couple of improvements and publish it shortly, but that would be after meeting the other little things that I have pending.

Well after Compos Napkin has started in Stratos-add.
The game will be based on the "design" was written on the napkin while taking a frozen 29Sept last meeting.
This design was developed with a new system which can be played with the following algorithm:
1 - An individual writes two lines that are explaining the game design 2 - Fold the napkin so that only see the second line has written q 3 - It happens the napkin to the next
And so is repeated, writing two lines each, seeing only the last line of what you wrote above, until all have written their two lines.
The result is a little story-design ... curious.
The challenge will be to create or adapt a game so that is as close as possible to the design-script of the napkin. Grace is that the content of the napkin is rather ambiguous, which is in the hands of each discern what are features and gameplay that are hallmarks of script and setting ... and of course, the idea is that these ambiguities activate the imagination.

In this game out addressing other pirate ships on a planet far away in a planet inhabited by creatures who do it all with stunts. The protagonist has a friend. There is sexual tension between the two. Montarón a banana republic where everyone would gather to play and gave them the many catching flies to feed through the hundreds of planets in the galaxy decadent.
